Herbal Hikes & Botanical ID: June-September


Join me this summer on herb walks and hikes in the foothills and the greater Denver area to learn about local medicinal plants, their uses, and key identification tips! Dates and details below…
June 27th 8:30 – 11:00: Beaver Brook Trail in the foothills 
July 25th: 8:30 – 9:30: South Pearl Street neighborhood walk
August 21st 8:45 – 11:30: Chatfield Reservior Trail
June 27th 8:45-11:30/noon: Beaver Brooke Trail. This hike is easy to moderate and will last about 2.5-3 hours depending on how many plants are out to talk about, which at this time, should be a fair amount. Feel free to bring notebooks to take notes.
Meeting point: Beaver Brook Trail Head off of the Chief Hosa exit. Take Exit 253 as you are heading West on I-70. Turn right when you exit, and right again onto a dirt path. Follow the dirt road down to park and we will meet near the restroom area. We will meet you there at 8:45 and start hiking by 9:00 sharp. If you are running behind, it may be difficult to connect since cell phone service is not very good or even available, but you’re welcome to catch up to us!!
8:45am meeting at the trailhead, starting hike at 9:00 until about 11:30 or noon. Beaver Brook trail Chief Hosa Exit 253.
July 25th: 8:30 – 9:30: South Pearl Street neighborhood walk
We will meet at 8:15 and depart by 8:30 in front of Stella’s Coffee House on South Pearl St. for neighborhood medicinal and edible plant identification. This willl be a 1 hour walk. Bring sunscreen or a hat and a mask. See you there!
